OakTree Solutions Nominated as a Small Business Subcontractor of the Year

OakTree received notification from the Small Business Administration Area Director John Campbell that it had received a nomination as Small Business Subcontractor of the Year for Region 3 of the Small Business Administration. Although, OakTree wasn't selected as the winner, OakTree did receive notice on June 9, 2006 that we did earn an Administrator's Award for Excellence certificate which establishes OakTree as one of the top small business prime contractors in our area. Being a finalist in this category sets OakTree Solutions in the top tier of Small Business in the region. Since 1967, awards in recognition of this honor have been presented to the selected small Business firms as part of a national joint government and industry event.

OakTree was nominated by Wayne Broadwater from Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Chantilly, VA for our support to them on the Pentagon Command Communications Survivability Program (CCSP). Over the course of 2 years, OakTree provided CSC with 5 technical resources for the project, including 3 which were technical leads in their respective areas. During the project, the customer awarded OakTree staff with multiple cash bonuses for their excellent performance.

OakTree provided CSC Subject Matter Expertise addressing all components of the Enterprise Network Management Solution (ENMS), including integration of the Micromuse Netcool Omnibus Core suite of software. We developed the integration touch points to element managers, Oracle databases, Remedy ARS, Infovista's performance monitoring tools, all while remaining inside the FCAPS requirements of the customer. OakTree personnel designed, built, tested, and delivered a network management portal that provided the government technicians with a single point of login to access the ENMS system from any available PC on the Pentagon's network.

"Ultimately the reason we were nominated for this award was because of the exceptional work of our staff. I strive to create an environment for staff, whether remote or local, where they are happy with OakTree and feel enthusiastic, empowered, and incentivized to do their best not only for personal satisfaction but for the success of OakTree. Our staff on CCSP exemplified this approach and the congratulations go out to them and to the management staff that supported them." said OakTree Solutions CEO and President, David Ferguson, in response to the notification.
