
Question: Can you schedule a saved report to execute at different times, say on Monday at 7AM and Friday at 5PM?
Answer: No, you must copy the report or rename it and save it under a different name for this scenario to work
Question: Can you store Console Logs for longer than 30 days?
Answer: Yes, but it is recommended to clean out older console logs so that the OakTreeNav database does not get too large
Question: Does ON 2007 allow you to create charts and graph from the Report data?
Answer: You must first export to Microsoft® Excel and create the graph or chart from within Excel
Question: I enabled a new inventory for Unicenter® AM and would like to create reports with the new data. How do I allow ON 2007 to see the new Inventory?
Answer: You must use the Rebuild Tree menu option within the Report Builder to enable ON 2007 to recognize the new Inventory.
Question: Can I run a report that shows the installed application packages?
Answer: Yes it is possible to create such a report within the Unicenter® SD Module
Question: Can I make a report showing all the nodes discovered in Unicenter® NSM/TNG from multiple NSMs/CORes?
Answer: Yes it is, but you will need to have license for each CORe/NSM and have these servers registered within the Register Server option under the Options Menu in the Report Builder
Question: Does ON 2007 recognize AHD/Unicenter® ServiceDesk user-created or customized fields?
Answer: Yes ON 2007 does recognize these fields. You can see more information about this within the ON 2007 Administrator? Guide located within the ON 2007 Documentation folder
Question: Can you load old reports from earlier version of ON into the newer release (V. 6.0.5)?
Answer: Yes it is possible. After loading the old report execute it once and then SAVE the report within the new version. If you have problems with importing older reports (.otr files), please contact Support@oaktreesolutions.com for assistance
Question: How can I get more licenses for additional servers and/or Modules?

Question: Do I need a new license if we upgrade a Unicenter Application to a newer version?
Answer: You should if you are using the same server and database information as before. You may, however, need a new license for Unicenter?AM upgrades as the Domain ID may change.

Question: Can I create a report from multiple Unicenter® Modules?
Answer: Currently, it is not possible to pull information across multiple Modules, but you are able to export the data to a third party application such as Microsoft® Excel and combine the reports?data within the spreadsheet

Question: I have created a report, but want to insert some information manually. Is this possible?
Answer: Yes, there is an Add Comment Column feature within the Search Results window menu. You can then place the column where you would like by left-clicking the column, while holding the button down, moving it to the location that you want
Question: What information do I need to provide to be able to receive an ON 2007 License?
Answer: You need to provide the following for a license:

Question: Is there any way to eliminate duplicates after running the report but before 'View in Excel'?
Answer: It is possible to delete row(s) within the Search Results Window for the report, before you export it to Excel. Under the Edit Menu, select the Delete Row(s) option.
Question: Is there a way to have multiple entries for a field? criteria, such as many different Service Desk Analysts within one report?
Answer: You can use ?n List?Option within the field? Add Criteria window. List the entries separated only by commas. Example: In List option Smith,Davis,Bailey,Green
Question: Is there a method to rename a column within the Search Results window that will return for each subsequent execution of the report?
Answer: Yes. Rename the field within the Criteria Pane within the Report Builder. These field names are used as the column headers within the report.
Question: If our Computer Associates application is upgraded, do we need to upgrade or reconfigure OakTree Navigator?
Answer: The only reconfiguration you may need to do is obtain a new license if you change the name of the server or domain ID (if the required licensing information is changed). Please contact Support@oaktreesolutions.com for more information.
Question: With the Canned or Sample Reports, do I need to do anything special once they are installed?
Answer: You will only be able to use the reports off the servers that you have registered. Other than that, the reports are available for use ?ut of the box.?/p>
Question: What does the error message ?rror string or binary data would be truncated?mean when trying to save a report?
Answer: This is usually an indication that the character limit for a particular field has been exceeded. Take a screenshot of the report that you are trying to create and save, including the Add Criteria for all fields. Send this to ON Support at Support@oaktreesolutions.com.
Question: Why do I get the following error message after installing the Web Report Generator ?erver Error in '/ON2007' Application. Security Exception?
Answer: This is because the ASPNET user does not have Write permissions to the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ON2007 folder (default location may be different for your installation depending upon how you installed the Web Report Generator).
Question: Why do I not see the Export to Excel option in the Web Report Generator?
Answer: This is due to the fact that the following dll is not register: msowc.dll. This is the Microsoft Office Web Components that is on the Office CD or is installed with your Office installation, but not yet registered. To register it you need to:
1. Go to START --> Run
2. Type the text ?egsvr32 C:\program files\Microsoftoffice\office\msowc.dll?
3. Hit enter.
Question: Will the use of OakTree Navigator products do damage to the Unicenter® software?
Answer: No. The use of OakTree Navigator products will not affect Computer Associates software.
Question: Are there versions of the ON products that work with Sybase or Oracle instead of SQL?
Answer: Yes. If you are using a different Database Application than SQL, contact our Customer Support and we will work with you to provide you with a version that will meet your requirements.
Question: Do you have ON product versions that will work with other language versions of OS?
Answer: Yes. Currently, we have version that work in English and French. If you require a different version then contact our Customer Support and our development team will try and accommodate your requirements.
Question: If you are experiencing trouble downloading the ON products over the web, how can you obtain a CD-ROM of the ON Product line?
Answer: There are a few ways to obtain a copy of the software on a CD-ROM, including: Contact our Customer Support Team and they will send you one, fill out the request form on the Internet and a copy will be sent to you, or you can call us and provide the information necessary and a copy will be mailed to you.
Question: How do I obtain a license for the products?
Answer: Once you have paid for the license, you need to send certain informational files from your server to obtain a working license key for the ON products. The ON for AHD and ON for SDO require the SQL server name, ON for AMO requires domain.ini file, ON for Unicenter® NSM requires the Unicenter® NSM database name. Once we have the files necessary we will send you a license key that you use to license your purchased ON Software. Please refer to the software documentation for licensing procedures.
Question: How long is the trial period? Can I get a temporary license for full-product testing?
Answer: Typically the trial period for the product lasts 30 days from installation. However, if you need to extend the evaluation period, or test the full product, you can contact our customer support team, via phone or email, and request a license, and we will be happy to provide you with one. We will still require your NETWORK.DAT file to provide you with a license.
Question: Are client licenses required for the Web components?
Answer: Yes. For all components, a license is required in order to use all features of the software.
Question: Can you use ON for AHD 5.01 with Unicenter® NSM Advanced Help Desk version x.x?
Answer: Yes. The ON for AHD version 5.01 is compatible with Unicenter® option AHD version 4.x and higher.
Question: Can you also use user-created categories with ON for AHD? Other ON products?
Answer: Yes, you can for ON for AHD. Please refer to the User's Guide to ON for AHD. For the other products, our development staff is currently working on this feature and should be available shortly, where you can include user-created criteria within the reporting features. Again, the AHD Administrator or AHD DBA should only perform these added field or table changes.
Question: How do I remove the "Evaluation Copy" message permanently?
Answer: This message displays when you are using evaluation copies of the OakTree Navigator. To permanently remove this message, so that it never re-appears, you need to purchase the full version of the product and register it.
Question: What if I do not choose an option in the Drop-down fields within OakTree Navigator software packages?
Answer: When you do not specifically fill out a field, it will be replaced with a "wildcard" so that there are no limitations set for that field.
